Overview

My Mineral Collection is designed to help mineral collectors keep records of specimens, labels, mineral shows, sellers, photos, OCR text, and notes. Your collection data is stored on your device. If iCloud is available and sync is enabled by the app, your data may sync through your private iCloud account.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking in My Mineral Collection.

Information You Enter or Create

The app may store information that you choose to enter, including specimen names, specimen IDs, localities, seller names, mineral show information, purchase details, notes, photos, OCR results, and exported files.

This information is used to provide the app's collection management features.

Photos, Camera, and Photo Library

My Mineral Collection asks for camera access so you can photograph specimens and scan mineral labels. It may ask for photo library access if you choose to import a photo from your device.

Photos are used for your collection records. The app does not use photos for advertising or tracking.

Device Permissions

Camera permission is required to take specimen photos and scan mineral labels. Photo library permission is required only when you choose to import a photo from your device library.

You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. If you do not grant camera or photo library access, those photo features may not work, but you can still create and edit records manually.

OCR and Label Text

My Mineral Collection can recognize text from mineral label photos to help fill record fields. OCR text and edited record fields are stored as part of your collection data.

iCloud Sync

If iCloud is available, My Mineral Collection may sync collection data through your private iCloud account. iCloud sync is provided by Apple. Your use of iCloud is also subject to Apple's privacy policies and iCloud terms.

CSV Export

If you export your collection data, the exported file is created for your own use. You control where that file is saved or shared.

Data Sharing

We do not sell collection data. We do not share collection data with advertisers. Data may be processed by Apple services such as iCloud when you use system features provided by iOS.

Data Deletion

You can delete local records in the app. You may also manage iCloud data through Apple's iCloud settings. If you need help, contact support.

Children's Privacy

My Mineral Collection is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
